Announcing Special Guests at the Landy Rally 2008!

“Hard to Handle”, the one man, one woman, one land rover team will be taking part in this years Landy Rally to raise money for Practical Action.

ImageIntroducing the team members of Team “Hard to Handle” – Guy Higgins, adventurer and chartered accountant (not two tendencies that you'd normally put together so defintely hard to handle from a psychotherapist's perspective!); Vanessa Lindley, visionary and expedition enthusiast (a combination that has certainly been hard to handle so far!) and Sonic, 1995 Defender 90 who is actually proving the least hard to handle in the team.

Landy Rally 2008 will test the stamina and friendships of even the most prepared teams – a grueling 7-day event visiting 10 European countries, covering a total of 2,500 miles and open to up to 100 teams and their land rovers.  Take a look at their website but beware land rover lovers  - this is how we got hooked in to entering… http://www.landyrally.com/

Our chosen charity, Practical Action works with some of the poorest people in the world, helping them to develop skills and technologies that will enable them to build a better future.  Practical Action has a unique approach to development – they don't start with technology, but with people. The tools may be simple or sophisticated – but to provide long-term, appropriate and practical answers, they must be firmly in the hands of local people: people who shape technology and control it for themselves.  Check them out for yourself and see what great work they are doing around the world. http://www.practicalaction.org/
